This document describes what user data we collect, and what we use it for.

Logging
We collect web server logs to monitor website usage.
The following data is logged:
- IP address
- Time of visit
- Visited page URL
- Browser user agent string
- Referer
This data can be accessed only by the WebCamp organization team, and is used to monitor website usage, and debug any problems. Logs are retained for two weeks, after which they are deleted.
The data collected during registration and CFP process is not linked to the IP address.
Newsletter
You can subscribe to our newsletter to receive periodical emails with updates related to the conference. The signup form can be found here.
We use the MailChimp platform for sending our newsletter. Data entered into the newsletter subscription form will be sent to MailChimp for processing in accordance with their Privacy Policy and Terms.
When subscribing, you will be asked to grant us permission to send you the newsletter.
You can unsubscribe or revoke this permission at any time by following the link in the footer of any newsletter you received, or by contacting us at info@webcampzg.org.
Call for Papers
If you wish to submit a talk to WebCamp Zagreb, you need to register as a user on this web site. This is currently the only reason for having a user account on our website. You do not need one to attend the conference.
We collect the following personal information on registration:
- full name
- github account (optional)
- twitter account (optional)
- t-shirt size
Additionally, on your speaker profile which is filled in when you submit a talk:
- profile image
- biography
- company name (optional)
- speaker experience
The email address is used to contact you related to your talk applications. We will send you an email informing you whether your application was selected. All the collected data will be accessible to the Talks Committee whose job is to rate talk submissions and decide which will appear on WebCamp Zagreb.
If your talk is accepted, and you agree to hold it on WebCamp Zagreb, the following personal information will be published publicly on our web site:
- full name
- github account (optional)
- twitter account (optional)
- profile image
- biography
- recorded video of your talk
This information can also be used on social media platforms for purposes of promotion of the conference.
When applying a talk, you need to give us the following permissions which are required if you wish to give a talk at WebCamp Zagreb:
- to contact you by email
- to use collected data in the talk selection process
- to publish public data on our website and social platforms
- to record and publish a video recording of your talk
Tickets
We use the Entrio platform for selling tickets. If buying tickets you must agree with their terms of sale and privacy policy.
Entrio collects the following data for us for each attendee:
- Name
- Company name (optional)
- Twitter handle (optional)
- Country of origin (optional)
- T-shirt size
- Dietary preferences
Email is used for important notifications related to the event, and will not be used for sending any promotional emails, nor will we add you to our Newsletter.
Name, Company name and Twitter handle will be printed on the conference badges which you will receive on the day of the conference.
Country of origin is used only for generating statistics, for example how many foreign visitors there are compared to domestic.
The t-shirt size is required so we can provide you with a fitting t-shirt as part of the conference swag bag.
Dietary preferences are required so we can provide you with a fitting meal.
